Position Overview
Performs complex and diverse administrative duties, assists in administrative problem solving, program/project planning, development, and execution of stated goals and objectives.

Job Description

  •  Schedules appointments and maintains calendars; coordinates and facilitates meetings, facilities usage, events, conferences, and/or travel arrangements.
  •  Provides and/or oversees support activities for the unit such as answering telephones, assisting teleconferences, resolving problems and inquiries of visitors, review and control of incoming and outgoing correspondence, and follow-up on operational commitments.
  •  Performs a range of diverse administrative activities for the department, serves as a central point of liaison with other departments and external constituencies in the resolution of a variety of day-to-day matters concerning the department.
  •  Maintain the departmental database and files and manage departmental records, including staff vacation/sick leave reports, time reports, status forms, and other personnel reports.
  • Assist in maintaining office equipment and purchases.
  • Establishes, updates, and maintains department’s files, inventories, and records; implements and maintains data management systems.
  • Assists in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special projects as appropriate.
  • May supervise one or more clerical staff or coordinate work of temp and/or interns.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree or office technology certificate required.
  •  2 years’ experience as an administrative support in a managed care setting required.
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills as well as project management skills.
  •  Must know how to use Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Access. Capacity to perform access queries preferred.
  •  Must demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, and to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
