Position Overview

The Project Manager – III (PM-III) will be responsible for developing and overseeing the operational aspects and scope of large complex enterprise projects. The PM-III creates and executes project plans and business requirements. They also effectively apply project methodologies and enforce standards while ensuring quality assurance. This position will lead the implementation of MetroPlusHealth’s transition to a new Claims Adjudication/CORE Processing system.

Job Description

  • Oversee the implementation of multiple complex projects as they progress through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Lead Project Manager on the management and implementation and transition to a new CORE/Claims processing system
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans
  • Monitor progress toward project milestones to ensure metrics are met timely and within budget
  • Coordinate the development of project scope and business requirements through textual and visual documentation
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve business needs through project execution
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure contractual deliverables and support requests are met
  • Document meeting minutes, attendance and facilitate project deliverable completion
  • Prepare and communicate project status reports to the project team and executive leadership clearly and regularly
  • Initiate and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote organizational goals
  • Utilize industry and internal PMO best practices, techniques, and standards throughout project implementation
  • Serve as a mentor and source of expertise to other Project Managers and project team
  • Adapt to changes in work responsibilities as required
  • Other project management duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Business, Science, or related field required
  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Business, Science, or related field preferred
  • Eight (8) years of relevant project management experience
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in leading large complex technical projects including Claims and CORE system implementations.
  • Experience with supporting project initiatives related to benefit configurations and end-to-end claims processing
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Project, and Visio
  • Maintains strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple business units
